The weather was warm here; the breeze meant nothing to the mare as it flowed through feathers and hairs. Catching her now standing she was used to wind coming at her front as she galloped or flew through the wind. The wind was turning her hairs up, flowing her long thick slightly matted forelock over her deep brown eyes. Wingspan stretched out, thick and long dark silvery black mixed with browns and silver touched feathers stretched out surrounding the short stocky draft type mare. Curling back in to her sides they rested now, large hooves stepping over the short sandy beach. Slow four beat walking steps moved towards a large luscious patch of pink and green.
Ears flickered around a moment, not sensing anything around the mare lowered her head. Lips touching the soft pink flowers she took in their scent. Making sure everything was good before taking a bite from the flowers. There she grazed, finding her wings relaxing from being folded nicely to hanging lazily, feathers touching the ground. Tail flicked before finding its resting place, large hooves planted on the ground, body showing little tense feeling. It was here she found relaxation, the wind of the day not bothering the mare. It seemed her whole body was at rest, until after a few more chomps of the flowers seemed to satisfy her. Lips lifting from the ground, dark eyes staring at the water. The waves took all of her mind for a while, and it seemed the more she looked the more her body wished to be in the water.
Not even noticing it her large hooves started moving. Drawing herself to the water’s edge it wasn’t until the waves touched her fore legs that she realized she had walked all the way there. Pawing at the water a moment she tested it out. She found herself feeling younger, prancing around in the water, splashing and playing about. Hooves thrashed the cool water, wings flung about as she moved. Cream tail flicked around her, sending droplets over her coat. After a few moments of prancing about the mare found herself in the water completely. Legs buckling down under her, rolling around in the waves. Legs and wings thrashed playfully about as she rolled around. Wetting nearly her entire body before standing back up, shaking off her body, tossing her head letting her long mane and forelock find their respective places. Stepping out of the cool waves the mare shook off once again, flapping her feathered wings a few times, feathers easily removing the water. Tail flicking about the mare’s ears flicked about, not worried about anyone coming around, the mare simply enjoying the cool bath she had just had. The breeze starting to dry her thick coat.

~Stranger than you dreamt it,~ The sun beat down on the stallion’s ebony coat. Wind twirled about his long banners, making them blow out around him wildly. The feathers on the creature’s wings reveled in the wind. As Phantom stood with the warm sand gathering around his thick hooves he pricked his ears far forward. The wind sang soft lyrics to the stallion. His deep blue eyes closed to the sweet music, the wind’s voice being his only friend in the long years he had been alone. But that was enough for him. He had become dark, a reasonable emotion in his lonely life. He had lost his only loves in his life, all due to his curse. This caused him to become withdrawn from all other equines. He did not want to risk losing anyone else. It would wreck him. And so he was taking in the beauty of this ocean land by himself. The wind his only constant companion.
As the wind sang it spoke words of the ocean to the stallion. Pulling him towards the pristine waters. His large form waded out into the beautiful waters, allowing it to come up to his tall knees. His eyes once again closed to the sun, taking in the calming feel of the cool water against his warm skin. His wings spread out across the water, coming to their full length, laying softly onto the smooth water. He was calm here, the water working its way past his thick coat and feathers, gracing his skin. The stallion’s white lips threatened to smile, but that did not come. The wind spoke words to him once again. Telling him about his reflection in the clear water. And so his eyes opened once more. The stallion tilted his head to the right, hiding his cursed side. His regal head tucked into his neck. His white face reflecting brilliantly in the waters. Deep blue eyes starring proudly at his form. He was large, coming from his father’s draft line. Muscles rippled easily under his dark skin. But he was thinner than most drafts, from his mother’s side. Long black tresses twirled around his grand form. Wings protruded from his thick shoulders, silky feathers rustling with the wind. From this angle he was quite a sight to behold. But still the wind was not happy. It reveled in his glorious sight, but knew that there was a much different sight from the right. It calmly pulled the stallion to look to his right, a sight that the stallion hated. But he could not deny the wind.
So, the stallion tilted his head to the right, a deep scowl forming on his lips. Deep red scars fall across his face. Running across his eye, coloring it a milky blue, but he was able to see from the eye, his father was sure to make him able to look at his cursed side. One thick, white, strand of hair fell to the right side of his strong neck. His two right legs were marred with white stockings crawling up them. The feathers of his right side were splattered with white. This was his curse. His looks were wickedly ruined with this white color. His father had worked hard to keep all of his heirs regally black. But Phantom ruined this. And so his mother was killed, his father blaming her for this curse. And then Phantom was banished from his homeland. Left alone in his pitiful existence. The wind told the stallion that he was not pitiful, he was grand, but Phantom refused to believe this with the sight of his right side glaring at him.
His blue eyes squint at his reflection. It cursed him to lose his mother. And then to lose his one love much later in his life. He hated this, did not know how he deserved such a life, but he was cursed with it. His looks would forever follow him. At the sight of himself anger began to boil deep inside his blood. The stallion brought his thick leg out of the water, striking his reflection, shattering the calm water with a display of power. A sharp scream passing through his angry lips, destroying the silence around him. Phantom then tilted his head to the right once more. The stallion once again closed his deep blue eyes, closing out the world with it. His breath began to return back to normal. But his blood still boiled under his skin. The anger would never disappear. No matter how much the wind spoke to Phantom with its calming lyrics.

Still dripping wet the silver dapple mare , her coat appeared darker her cream locks still matted. Shaking once again her long feathery cream hairs shook out and still landed in thick dreads sticking to her thick stocky body. The water was joyous, something the mare loved, water was wonderful whether the rain falling from the sky or over the earth. Even storms usually kept her happy, though lately alone darkness had brought her down. She was alone, feeling alone on this island. She had left home in search and so far hadn’t found anything she was looking for. Always a debate whether to go home or not. Finding herself back at the pink flowers, grazing quietly for what seemed at least a few minutes.
The sound of an angry cry stuck her ears and they flicked around a second before locking on the location from which it came. Lifting her head slowly the mare didn’t think much, she was going to investigate. Steps moved slowly up the hillside to look over the water. Her dark eyes found another winged equine in the waters below. He was dark, though held some white features; he looked taller than she, but who wasn’t. It appeared to her that he was angry, though with nothing else around she had no idea what he was angry with. Wings flapping lightly she jogged down to the water edge, looking over him as she stood on the sand.
”Hello?” Her voice was soft, questioning more than a statement of hello. ”Are you alright?” the winged mare stood back. Rah wasn’t really sure what he was angry with and a turned anger towards her would probably be a disaster. He was bigger and stronger and with the added wings she had no advantage over him. Dark eyes watched, light cream feathers over her large dish hooves were touched by the waves. Her head tilted slightly and ears locked on his dark figure. Tail swished back and forth a bit, trying to dry it off.
((Sorry it is short and it took so long))

~In his eyes,~ The sound of hooves prancing down the sand caught the stallion's attention. His ears flick back to his poll, intertwining with his thick mane. His neck arches and his nostrils flare. Who dares to break his angered silence?! He arches back on his back legs and spins to face the creature who was now close to him. But his eyes land on the form of a happy looking mare, and he instantly settles himself down. His gentleman nature would not allow him to cause a commotion with a mare, one who obviously meant him no harm. The wind sang him lyrics of the mare not meaning to upset him, telling him to calm himself. The stallion listened to the wind and gave a soft sigh and then calmed his racing nerves. The stallion then realized that he had not hidden his face and so Phantom tilted his head to the right, hiding his scars.
Her soft lyrics lifted to the stallion's tilted ears. A simple hello came from her lips. Then a question, 'are you ok'? At this the stallion gave a soft chuckle. Ok? Phantom could never be ok, not with his life story. But this mare did not need to know this. She seemed so innocent to the stallion. Though he had never been known for his accurate characterization of other equines. The stallion forced a smile to fall onto his pristine white lips. Knowing that his previous show must have ben somewhat frightening, and trying to clean it up. "Hello." He gave a slight bow with his neck, a sign of respect that Phantom almost always paid to any equine he met. He then racked his brain for an answer that he could give her for the question.
As he thought the stallion looked the mare over. She was rather short, much shorter than Phantom, though that wasn't hard to be. Even though she was short her body was stocky, showing some muscle under her pelt. The mare's coat was the color of a silver dapple, matched with the creamy color of her mane, she was a very pretty mare. At this thought his smile turned more true. She was a sweet seeming and pretty mare, much better than the intruding, ugly, creature he expected. And so he was happy with the outcome. But the cold darkness kept itself locked into his eyes. Seeing any mare always made the stallion think of he mare he lost, the mare he loved.
"I apologize for that display. I was only feeling slightly agitated and allowed my feelings to overcome me. Now, I am feeling much better." His dark words lifted along the soft breeze. A nod from his head accentuating his words. Then a thought came into his mind. He had not introduced himself. "Excuse my rudeness. My name is Phantom. A pleasure to meet you ma'am." Another bow came from the stallion. Then he waited for whatever reaction the mare would give him.
~All the sadness in the world.~
