Approved Breeds & Guidelines

Note: These are general guidelines. Keep in mind that you may combine some coat colors and modifiers, and that heights are for the average horse. Some horses may be under or over the average height, but we won't accept every single horse over (or under). The height may only be accepted if it's reasonably over (i.e. your Arabian won't be 18hh). If you are interested in a horse that is not listed here, contact admin with your request. Have any questions or are unsure about anything? Please PM an admin.

Akhal-Teke

- Color: black, gray, bay, chestnut, palomino, cremello, perlino, sabino, rabicano
- Eyes: Brown, blue, hazel where appropriate
- Height: 14.2 - 16.0 hh

American Paint Horse

- Color: Tobiano, frame overo, tovero, splash white, sabino, solid (note - we consider frame over and splash white different, please either say "frame overo" or "splash white" in your application)
- Eyes: Brown, blue
- Height: 14.2 - 16.0 hh

American Quarter Horse

- Color: bay, black, brown, buckskin, palomino, gray, dun, red dun, grullo, red roan, blue roan, bay roan, perlino, cremello, and white/overo and silver (both extremely rare)
- Eyes: Brown, blue
- Height: 14.0 - 16.0 hh

American Saddlebred

- Color: black, bay, chestnut (three most common), gray, cream dilute, champagne, tobiano, sabino, splash overo
- Eyes: Brown, blue, hazel where appropriate
- Height: 14.2 - 17.0 hh (avg. 15.0 - 16.0 hh)

Andalusian

- Color: 80% gray, 15% bay, remaining 5% black, dun, palomino, chestnut (cream dilutes and pearl are allowed, but extremely rare)
- Eyes: Brown, hazel where appropriate
- Height: 15.2 - 16.2 hh

Arabian

- Color: bay, gray, chestnut, black, rabicano, sabino
- Eyes: Brown, blue where appropriate
- Height: 14.1 - 15.1 hh

Appaloosa

- Color: bay, black, chestnut, palomino, buckskin, cremello or perlino, roan, gray, dun, grulla
- Eyes: Brown, blue
- Height: 14.0 - 16.0 hh

Appendix Quarter Horse

- Color: bay, black, brown, seal bay/brown, buckskin, palomino, gray, dun, red dun, grullo, red roan, blue roan, bay roan, perlino, cremello, and white/overo and silver (both extremely rare)
- Eyes: Brown, blue, hazel where appropriate
- Height: 15.0 - 17.0 hh

Ardennes Draft

- Color: bay, roan, chestnut, gray, or palomino, pangare

- Height: Stallions avg. 16.0 hh, mares avg. 15.3 hh

Black Forest Horse

- Color: Flaxen liver chestnut

Brumby

- Color: All colors
- Eyes: Brown, blue, hazel where appropriate
- Height: Typically 14.0 - 15.0 hh

Camargue

- Color: Gray

Criollo

- Color: black, brown, bay, grey with white only allowed as a small star or on/below the hind fetlock
- Eyes: Brown
- Height: Avg. 13.2 hh, limit 14.0 hh

Florida Cracker

- Color: Most commonly bay, black, gray, occasionally grulla, dun, chestnut, rarely roan, pinto
- Eyes: Brown
- Height: 13.2 - 15.0 hh

Friesian

- Color: Black, chestnut is extremely rare, no white allowed
- Eyes: Brown

Marsh Tacky

- Color: Comes in many colors including dun, bay, roan, chestnut, black, grullo, though pinto is not found
- Eyes: Brown
- Height: Avg. 14.0 - 14.2 hh, can be 13.0 - 15.0 hh

Missouri Fox Trotter

- Color: Any solid color, pinto, white markings common
- Eyes: Brown, blue
- Height: Avg. 14.0 - 16.0 hh, though the "pony version" can be 11.0 - 14.0 hh

Morgan

- Color: Most commonly bay, black, chesnut, also gray, roan, dun, silver dapple, cream dilutions, sabino, overo, splash white
- Eyes: Brown, blue, hazel where appropriate
- Height: Avg. 14.1 - 15.2 hh

Mustang (American, Kiger, or Spanish)

- Most commonly black, black, chestnut, gray (dun for Kiger), less commonly appaloosa, paint, and other solid colors

National Show Horse

- Color: Most commonly bay, gray, chestnut, black, pinto, palomino

Tennessee Walking Horse

Thoroughbred
